Digital Assets, DeFi & Tokenised Economy

Course Overview

Why This Course

In the twelve months to July 2026, digital assets stopped being a parallel financial system and started becoming the plumbing of the main one. The GENIUS Act gave the United States its first federal stablecoin law. The EU’s MiCA regime reached full enforcement and immediately opened a review to catch up with tokenisation. The UK and US launched a Transatlantic Taskforce; its ten-point roadmap, published this month, commits the world’s two largest capital markets to a common approach to tokenised finance. The DTCC (custodian of $114 trillion in securities) ran its first live production trades of tokenised stocks, ETFs and Treasuries alongside JPMorgan, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, Vanguard, NYSE and Nasdaq.

“We believe tokenization will significantly change how markets work and operate, bringing new levels of liquidity, transparency and efficiency to investors.”

— Frank La Salla, President & CEO, DTCC (2026)

Learning Outcomes

By completion, participants can: explain how blockchains reach consensus and why that matters commercially; set up and secure self-custodied and institutional wallet arrangements; execute swaps, staking and liquidity provision while quantifying the risks (including impermanent loss); describe the GENIUS, CLARITY, MiCAR and UK frameworks and the July 2026 UK–US roadmap; and critically evaluate an RWA tokenisation structure end to end, from legal wrapper to atomic settlement.

This course isn’t just theory—it’s a roadmap to understanding blockchain’s present and future.

Across four modules, you’ll explore:

  • Technology: From blockchain basics to practical application of Digital Ledger Technology.
  • Applications: Decentralised Finance (DeFi) and real-world asset tokenisation.
  • Regulations: Navigating rules in the UK, EU, US, and beyond.
  • Ethics: Balancing innovation with environmental and social impacts.
  • Live Tools: Hands-on insights into dApps: decentralised Applications: digital wallets, liquidity provision, staking and more.

Who should attend

Blockchain’s reach is universal, and this course is for everyone everywhere with a stake in the future—whether you’re shaping it, regulating it, or simply living it. These are the people who will need it:

  • Regulators: Government officials (e.g., SEC, FCA, MAS) crafting policies—understand fractionalization challenges or ZKP’s privacy trade-offs to stay ahead of innovation
  • Regulated Entities: Banks, exchanges, and financial firms (e.g., CASPs under MiCA)—learn how Solana’s DeFi and NFTs fit into compliance frameworks.
  • Participants in Financial Services: Investors, traders, and developers—master staking on Marinade or trading via Jupiter to maximize returns or build the next big dApp.
  • Tech Enthusiasts and Entrepreneurs: From gaming devs using Star Atlas to startups tokenizing assets—turn ideas into reality on Solana’s scalable platform.
  • EVERYONE: You don’t need a finance degree—whether you’re an artist minting NFTs or a worker sending remittances via USDC on Solana, this impacts your life.
